  1. Hi, I just noticed a new OS update from mac, but want to be sure it won't cause any issues with the latest version of Storyist before going ahead with the update. Can anyone confirm if it's safe? Z
  2. Hi Steve, I just wanted to add my vote for a footnote/endnote function in Storyist. I need to write a scholarly paper based on creative work I have been composing in Storyist, and unfortunately the lack of this functionality means I have to work in dreaded Word. I appreciate that Storyist is really structured for literary media, but needless to say, for all kinds of reasons, citations would be a key, if not essential, asset to what is otherwise the very best writing software.
  3. Perfect! Just updated and all is well. I'll take this opportunity to say bravo for such a beautiful program. Z.
  4. Thank you very much Steve, and sorry for my belated reply. One more question: Seeing how I cannot retrieve update information for the time being, how will I know when 3.2.1 is available? Zareh
  5. Hi Steve, Thanks for your reply. I'm currently running version 3.2 on a mac book pro with OS 10.11 (El Capitan). Storyist itself seems to be working fine, but when I check for updates via Preferences I get the following: "Update Error! An error occurred in retrieving update information. Please try again later." With the sole option of clicking 'cancel update'. Please let me know if there is any other information I can provide you with. Z.
  6. Dear Steve, Just a head's up to let you know that the Update Error is occurring when I try to check for updates. Not sure if this has anything to do with the fact that I just installed El Capitan...
  7. Hi Marguerite, I so appreciate your generous and most helpful reply. I trust it will benefit others too. Thanks for taking the time. Write on. Z
  8. Hey fellow storyists, I know you all know the answer to this: I just got a new computer, and need to migrate my Storyist projects from my old machine to this one. What's the best way to do this? Many thanks in advance for your time and advice. Z.
  9. Hi Steve, Thanks for getting back to us so promptly. For what it's worth, I'm using 10.5.8. on a G4. I love antiques. So, If I understand you correctly, the next update of Storyist will allow one to save links/images in story sheets? Your idea of integrating links into Storyist is an excellent one and will be most appreciated. When do you anticipate 2.4.3? Best, Z.
  10. Thanks for taking the time to get back to me. All the best to you. Z.
  11. Yes, I'm a big fan of folders too - folders within folders within folders, like the Saragossa manuscript - but this is such a great tool...if only it worked. How often does the developer follow these boards? The sooner the patch, the better...
  12. Thanks for confirming this for me. And yes, I actually noticed it the first time when I went to another page and came back...I've not yet lost any images from Character sheets though.
  13. Hi, I've been adding links in Storyist to other elements of my project. For example, in a Character sheet I'll add a link to another Character sheet, or to a Setting, etc. I have a rather complex project with lots of interconnecting protagonists and locations, and this feature is very helpful. HOWEVER, after I save, close and subsequently reopen the project, I see that none of the links have been saved - i.e. the blue active link has turned into normal text. This is pretty frustrating seeing the amount of time I've spent on this. My version of the program is current. What gives? Thanks in advance. Zareh
  14. Marguerite, Thoth, Thanks so much to you both for your clear and quick replies. Very helpful and deeply appreciated. All the best, Z.
