  1. I've been using Storyist as my main writing tool for five years, mostly syncing between an iPad and iPhone. Fairly often I want to send a section of a longer work, for example an excerpt of a novel to a writing group for feedback. On iOS the select & copy process is tedious, particularly if you're trying to select twenty or thirty pages. Would be great to be able to copy a whole section of text from the index card level (not what's written on the card, the whole section of the novel that is represented by the card). Exporting from the index card level would be somewhat useful, too, maybe.
  2. Totally agree -- posted this in the wrong forum a minute ago: I've been using Storyist as my main writing tool for five years, mostly syncing between an iPad and iPhone. 3. Thanks -- maybe I'll try open office. I'm just so lazy I can't be bothered to sit at my desktop, so wanting to export from iPad... Will try the OO solution...
  4. Pretty much all my minor annoyances resolved! Selection changes by far the most appreciated. And I love Draft Mode! The selection tool for iPhone is really really cool - any reason not to put it on iPad, too? Being able to export to .doc would be nice... When people (submission guidelines mostly) request that format, I have to paste into pages and convert, usually on my desktop. Would be nice to be able to skip that step. Seems like no writing app I know of but pages exports to .doc so I'm guessing maybe you have to pay MS some exorbitant fee for the privilege of coding that?
  5. Hi, Hope somebody knows how to do this: I have a number of foreign (made up) words and things like ship names that either need to be italicized or underlined (depending on MS standard). What I'd like to do is be able to find the word unformatted and replace it with an italicized or underlined version. Can't make regular find & replace do this. Any ideas? Thanks, Phil
  6. Encryption might be a good "pay extra" option... Most folks wouldn't use it but some of us would love to make our enemies use up all their supercomputing resources to read our stuff... Personally, I'm having enough trouble getting people to read mine for free but I guess that's because I don't know any good secrets.
  7. Agreed... And word or PDF options would also be very useful. Another standalone iPad user here ( don't even have a Mac ) and I have thoroughly enjoyed using Storyist to write almost all 120,000 words of my current novel's first draft, but getting small chunks to people to read has been the only hassle.
  8. I second this request! Been cutting and pasting sections into pages for export to my editors / writing group. This would save me a big hassle ( as would being able to export sections as PDF or word files, which would be even better!)
