  1. I have twenty one chapters with a number of 'Secton Seperators' OUTLINE - allows for many things (tick) The "Word Count" is shown as well as "Rating" but I cannot seem to get the "Status" to show on the page, I put in "First Draft" or an of the other listed status titles and... Nothing. The column appears to be closed and I cannot seem to find a way of expanding it??? Your help/advise please B
  2. Sorry for delay in response, I had no idea I had received a reply. Only here due to another problem, I have now slid the 'Notify me" across What you suggest I have been doing in some form or another, but it is a problem as as present I started out with one novel and am now writing it as two, each from different perspectives and each following different paths, the characters only overlapping on certain dates of time. It is a heavy handed way of doing it, not so bad if starting a new novel in a series, but that is not what I'm doing, plus I have already divided the novel by duplicating. I do appreciate your input though. Thanks again. B
  3. I have needed to split my novel into two separate novels - Novel A and Novel B REQUIREMENT: A simple method to copy files, links, and documents from Storyist Novel A to Storyist Novel B as a whole document. A complete Project, Scene or Section Sheet copied and pasted. ALSO: The ability to link research collated on 'Text File - Notes' which contain both notes and links to webpages To 'Drag&Drop; a link in the Project, Scene or Section Sheets.'TO THE NOTE' containing the research. I have in-depth notes and research links on Settings, Scenes and Projects in Novel A, and need to keep the timeline in sync. It would be beneficial, especially to me, to be able to copy folders and or individual Setting, Scene and Project files/documents across to Novel B. It appears at present it all has to be raised new in Novel B then copy and pasted each individual 'Summary', 'Synopsis', 'Plot' and 'Notes'. This would save a large amount of time and help with maintaining a time line on the Project Board between the two novels, Novel A now 47k words with all the associated information and and Novel B now 67k words in with no associated information. On completion of these two novels, I am expecting to finalise both A and B, with a final novel C. Again, I expect to require the research and information already gathered. If this is already possible then by all means delete this Topic. Otherwise, I will be interested to hear your views, and/or suggested ways of doing the above. Regards Barynz (John Baryn)
  4. I downloaded but did not install Storyist 4 BUT havingdeleted the .DRM file and the file loaded into my hidden library. Each time I load Storyist 3, which I have used for several years. I get a pop up box giving me the option to 'Enter Licence Code' - 'Use Demo' or 'Buy Online'. Currently it is telling me I have 12 days left of a Demo I have not loaded onto my computer???? How do I remove this annoying box. I cannot afford to upgrade and wish to continue using my program without this distraction
  5. Thanks Steve, NO- I cannot change anything in the Story Sheets - As I said, i had hoped to change the Font Colour as the current colour won't print. Hope to see it soon. Thanks again, Regards Barynz
  6. I thought I had the problem solved BUT NO Within minutes of posting this, I found by deleting "Untitled Plot Point", a brown heading. Changing the colour, then putting my own heading, I could get the desired result. Thought I'd finally solved it. But NO. Even this does not change the Font Colour - after 'Saving' and then coming back into the document, I find it has reverted back to its original colour ???????? Barry
  7. I may have the placed this in 'Troubleshooting' incorrectly, but having spent hours attempting to change the Heading Colour on the Plot Point Sheet, I felt this was possibly the right place. I have version 3.5.2 (12352) I am at a critical point in my 80K word novel and require to print off the Plot Point Sheets. Problem: The Heading (Title) of each sheet is a mucky Brown Code CC9933 - As this will not print on my printer I have attempted to find a way to change this to standard Black Code 0000 Can any body tell me how I can change this. For me at this point of time it is important to have the Titles = Chapter references and Summary of the chapter printed Thank You in Anticipation Barry D Jones
  8. I am currently producing a document of family history. MS Word has the capability of formatting text around inserted photographs, but Word is not a program I use a great deal of since installing 'Storyist'. I love using the program, and I am pleased to see how it is now affiliated with 'Blurp', but it would be most useful to have the ability to insert scanned photographs and or other documents within text. I am aware this is a writers program mainly for Novel / Stories / Scripts, but the ability to insert documents and wrap text around with a story would be quite useful to writers of non-fiction. 10. I realise it has been awhile since this post, and reading it I have finally found where I can see a list of comments, although this is not abundantly clear and easy to find. Okay - What would be handy is to be able to "Choose" the Colour of the Comment Highlight, rather than a faded yellow. This would be really handy, or do I need to raise a new thread for this??? JustaBarynThought
  11. Exactly for what I logged on for today. After re-evaluating how I could sort a massive "Project" and "Section Sheet" Folder. I started to use colours for the Index Card View and found it wanting in colours. It would be good to be able to select as with the Font colours. I know you're listening (reading) Steve.
  12. Linking the Notebook data

  13. Thanks for that, no need to say it worked. I've spent a day and a half struggling with this. It just goes to show, the simplest methods are always the easiest and too much knowledge is not always a good thing. Hell, I even read the manual and I'm a bloke. Please don't tell anyone else Truly, Thank You John Baryn (Barynz)
  14. I am 50K words into a new novel, I have deleted characters and for many resurrected them in new pages or raised new character pages several times. The problem is, when in 'Section Sheet' or 'Plot', when I attempt to add a Character to the file I have a list of all previous deleted files held somewhere in the memory showing up in the drop down list, which may list the same character several times and when inserted, I find are the incorrect files. How do I delete old files from the drop down list and leave myself with the few I actually require. I have attempted to raise a 'New Project' and copy the work I wish to keep across, but it will not allow me to do this. I cannot copy any of the 'Section Sheets' - 'Plot' pages - 'Characters' etc to a New Project to restart what I already have, or to do a follow up sequel??
