  1. I am just getting started with Storyist and have just installed it on my iMac (El Capitan) and installed the app on my iPad (IOS 9.3.1). When I start my project I would like to be able to sync between the two as seamlessly as possible. Most of the time, I will work on the iMac but sometimes I may make a few changes or add something using my iPad and would like that to be part of the project the next time I open it on the iMac -- and vice versa. I have read over some related posts but did not quite find my answer. So, can I do that via iCloud? Or do I need to use Dropbox? Either way, exactly how? Thanks!
  2. Hello, I have a strange problem that happens both on my iPhone and on my iPadAir. Every time Storyist syncs, it deletes the files it currently has, claiming they've been deleted from the dropbox. When I hit sync again, it re-downloads those files. Then when I hit sync again, it deletes those files. Then when I hit sync again, it re-downloads those files...and so on. This means I can't have auto-sync on, because I keep getting booted from my document with an error message saying "This document has been deleted by another device from the dropbox." This also means that if my shaky fingers double-tap the sync button, the file on my iPad and iPhone gets over-written by the old file (because the device re-downloaded it from dropbox). This appears to only happen in dropbox folders that are shared with people with editing capabilities. I tried syncing to numerous folders, shared with different people, and they all caused this bug. Yet, the sync works just fine in folders that are not shared. For reference, all my devices have the latest versions of both Storyist and Dropbox. The person who's normally shared to my folder is actually just me (my laptop needs to be synced to my lab's dropbox while my iPhone and iPad are synced to my personal dropbox, so I shared the Storyist folder between the two). I know I can use iCloud instead, but I like the sanity saver of having access to deleted files on Dropbox.

Sync app with software (Evernote Support)

When will the Storyist app be linked or synced with the Storyist software? I have work saved on my computer that I can't get on my iPad or iPhone. Also, when will Storyist by able to sync with Evernote and not just dropbox?
  4. Just got Storyist and when opening my first window it wants to access iCloud. I use DropBox but I can't find an option for that. I looked at the preferences box (Mac OS) and couldn't find a DropBox option. Any ideas on how to correct this?
  5. Its possible im not doing something right. However I think that storyist uses one single folder for all the work. This doesnt work awesomely for me. When I'm working on a story, I may have pictures, some research, some clips or links. And I want to be able to keep items that went into each story in a single folder. So my story ends up in a folder with all the supporting documentation. I realize I can bring most of it into the storyist file itself, but that is not convenient when I have an original photo file and I am photoshopping it as needed. I dont want to stick both original and the various revisions in the storyist file, I just want everything to be in a folder. However, the ipad version just wants to sync stuff with one single folder /storyist. So I can pull in files from a specific folder, but then the ipad version, makes new files in the parent folder. It should sync to the folder that contains the file I took it from. Why even have a folder defined in the settings, just sync to where the file came from. That would be a lot easier.
  6. I have changes on my ios file that I can't sync to Dropbox. It was working but has failed to sync for over a week now. It says it is uploading the file but then nothing happens. 1) How can I get it working again? 2) How can I get my current file off the iPad so I can work on my desktop?
  7. I opened the Dropbox app on my father's iPad to show him some of my projects and none of my files were there, so I went to the storyist homepage on my iPad and pressed the quick sync button. It claimed that it was backing up my projects, and that they were going to Dropbox, and then suddenly four of my five projects DISSAPEAR. I've been quick syncing, and after my initial scare with it taking too long they started syncing really quick. This is because, I assume, nothing was ever really backing up to dropbox. So now I have an empty Dropbox folder due to an error with the software (not because I haven't been backing up my files) and four projects that are simply gone. I'm using storyist for junowrimo and have now faced three massive problems with the software in less than three weeks. I'm ready to throw in the towel all together, which is a shame because I really enjoy using storyist to write. It offers many useful features that would be great if they actually worked as advertised. Please help me as urgently as possible, Simone
