  1. Every time I click on the Characters and Settings tabs (and any of their sub groups) Storyist crashes. Clicking on the Chapters and Images does not cause it to crash. I just bought the latest version today. I'm running Storyist on Mac. Anyone else having this issue or know how to fix it? Thanks!
  2. I recently installed kindlegen (Mac OS) v. 2.9 on my Mac (10.11.3). When I try to export my document into mobi format I get this error. Anyone know what's wrong? This is the first time I've tried to do this in Storyist (ePubs work fine). I was able to go to the directory where I unzipped kindlegen and run the command from Terminal successfully. So what is Storyist's problem? The kindlegen file is clearly a valid executable. Thank you! Untitled2.tiff Untitled.tiff

    Auto-correct on mac

Hi! I've been using Storyist on my iPad for a while and I love it. I'm trying to use a bit more my Mac these days, and I notice that the auto-correction, even if correctly activated in the Mac settings, doesn't work in Storyist. Is it normal? Thanks for your help
  4. Hi - I just purchased Storyist for iOS today, am using it on my iPad Air 2 and iPhone 6s. Both work fine, sync well, no problems. I can go my iCloud Drive folder on either one and find the Storyist file folder, along with the files I've put there. However, when I go to my iCloud drive on my MacBook Pro, I cannot see the Storyist folder. I've tried going to iCloud drive via Finder, and also through Safari, logging in to my iCloud account. I've logged out and back in multiple times; started and re-started my MacBook multiple times; and added an item several times in an attempt to "force" a sync. But none of these have worked. I can still see and access the Storyist folder on my iOS devices; I still cannot see it nor access it on my MacBook. (Note - on my MacBook, I am using the trial version of Storyist - I'm in the first day of the 15-day trial. I was trying to decide whether to move to Storyist since Scrivener still does not have an iOS version. So far, I love what I see, but obviously I want and need iCloud sync functionality.) Help please? Thanks!
  5. Hi Steve, I've been going back and forth between iOS and Mac OS versions of Storyist in recent days, editing and refining on whichever device comes to hand. I've been watching the word count more than usual to keep a sense of how my cuts and edits are balancing out, and I noticed that they're different - that is the counts for words, pages etc. on iOS Storyist are different to the counts on MacOS Storyist. This for an apparently identical document kept in sync via dropbox. I've just tested this with one of your default projects - created as new, and named, but not edited in any way, and I get a discrepancy. I did a quick search to see if this had been reported, but couldn't find anything, so though I'd give a heads up on this one! Nick

    Text kerning?

This has come up once before in the fora, as far as I can tell, but the kerning in Storyist for Mac is … apparently nonexistent. I realize that's probably a somewhat esoteric concern for some, but a properly kerned page onscreen makes the difference between smooth readability for editing, and having your eyes hang up on strange spacing between C's, L's, and O's (for instance). I'm aware that some typefaces, such as the monospaced ones, don't have this problem, but I don't find monospaced type particularly readable in any circumstance, particularly on any kind of screen. To me it looks as though Storyist is not using standard OSX tools for rendering type to screen, or the kerning would be handled automatically. This is something TextEdit and TextWrangler both do (of course neither is adequate for writing anything of real length), which suggests it's available for general use in the Xcode toolkit - so am I missing a setting someplace, or has kerning not been implemented in Storyist for Mac? Interestingly, this problem does not seem to appear on the iPad version.
