Steve E
Noted writer J. D. Salinger (author of one of my first adult/adolescent reads, The Catcher In The Rye) died of natural causes three days ago in his home in Cornish, New Hampshire. He left behind a widely imitated literary style as well as a mystery: a room-sized safe. Publishers are all atwitter about the possibility of unpublished Salinger manuscripts.
