Displaying items on Storyboard

I would like a way to be able to display as many select items at one time on the storyboard as possible while I'm working, not just some subset of characters, or some settings. As it is right now, if I group my characters, then I can only see that group of characters at one time. Or I can look at a group of settings.

 

To me, the storyboard is a big cork board. I work on a large screen and would like to select what items to display there, so that I can see the mix of characters that are in a scene along with multiple photos from that scene to inspire me while I write.
