Storyist 1.3.5 is available for download.

Storyist 1.3.5 includes several new features and fixes several bugs. Specifically:

  • Template Chooser: The template chooser now provides a group for "My Templates" and categories for "Novel" and "Screenplay". To add a category to a custom template, save it in a subdirectory having the category name. For instance, if you want your template to appear in the "Other" category in addition to the "My Templates" group, save it in "~/Library/Application Support/Storyist/Templates/Other".
  • Project Pane: You can now control which top-level items are shown in the Project Pane using the "Display" menu item in the context ("gear") menu.
  • Storyboard: You can now configure clicks in the storyboard to control just the storyboard or the storyboard and the main view (the default behaviour).
  • Storyboard: The storyboard context ("gear") menu now includes the "Reveal in the Project Pane" option, which will open and select the currently selected storyboard item in the Project pane.
  • You can now hide (show) the Main View using View > Hide/Show Main View.
  • Right clicks in the Storyboard grid view now correctly select the item under the mouse.
  • The context menu in the section storyboard outline view context menu now correctly populates the Add submenu.
  • On Leopard, the Project pane titles no longer disappear in certain circumstances.
  • You can again delete images from story sheets by selecting them and pressing delete.
  • On Leopard, you can again drag images to a story sheet in addition to adding them via the image editor.
  • Group items in the Project pane now have a Leopard folder icon representation.
  • Chapter breaks are now recognized correctly when importing files that have no section separators.
  • Stale styles no longer appear in the import assistant style substitution pane the second time an import session is run.
  • The import assistant now honors the style override checkbox. Previously, it would ignore it in certain circumstances.
  • In Leopard, tool tips are disabled in the outline view. Previously, they would stretch to the screen bounds when the outline contained "a bunch" of text.
  • The outline view in Leopard now uses the same tab semantics as in Tiger. Previously, it inherited the new Apple default behaviour of tabbing out of the outline view at the end of a row.
  • Pages are now drawn correctly when navigating to a sheet with more than one page. Previously, the second page would be cut off in certain circumstances.
  • When dragging files to the storyboard grid view, the filename is now used for the title of the new story element.
  • Sections are now (again) listed in document order in the "section" popup menus in plot point and character development point items.
