dennis7490
Steve, This is the 2nd time it has happened. I go to open the file, a screenplay with notes, characters, etc., and it is a white page. Nothing. i have backups, but the backups in STORYIST are grayed out. Luckily I have an external drive back up. 1 - how can i retrieve this file. 2 - Why is it happening more than once. and yes, i do save it. thanks, Dennis
Steve
Hi Dennis, It's hard to say what is happening without more information. I'd be happy to take a look at the file for you. I'll PM you my email address. Please let me know which versions of Storyist and OS X you're running. Could you tell me more about the backups being grayed out? If the File > Backups menu item is grayed out, you're probably editing a file that hasn't been saved or backed up yet. Storyist backups are stored in the "~/Library/Application Support/Storyist/Backup folder, and you can copy them from there if you want. On Lion and later, the "~/Library" folder is hidden. To see it: Open a Finder window. Type Command+Shift+G. Enter "~/Library" in the dialog that appear. Don't forget the "~" as this means to look in your home directory. -Steve
