Today, I found out that my version of Storyist for my Mac could not generate a Kindle ebook (.mobi). Turns out I needed to replace my 32-bit KindleGen with 64-bit. And it turns out that Amazon no longer has a direct link to KindleGen. So I googled a bit, and found out how to get the KindleGen in Kindle Publisher. Here is what I did. Download and install the latest Kindle Previewer from Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html?ie=UTF8&docId=1000765261 In the Applications folder, control-click the Kindle Previewer 3.app and select Open Package Contents from the pop-up menu.
I recently installed kindlegen (Mac OS) v. 2.9 on my Mac (10.11.3). When I try to export my document into mobi format I get this error. Anyone know what's wrong? This is the first time I've tried to do this in Storyist (ePubs work fine). I was able to go to the directory where I unzipped kindlegen and run the command from Terminal successfully. So what is Storyist's problem? The kindlegen file is clearly a valid executable. Thank you! Untitled2.tiff Untitled.tiff
Hi, I have converted my storyist manuscript to an epub file (although I know before I've been able to convert to a mobi file). The problem is, even though I have section breaks in my storyist manuscript, they get pushed together on the Kindle. So when you're reading it the sections all run together. Even with the hashtag, all I get is one line of a hashtag, which is even more cluttered on the Kindle page. Is there a way around this? Thanks!
When I export a project from Storyist, no matter how I arrange the files in the export dialog, 'Table of Contents' is put right after the cover in the mobi file. How do I change this? I'd like to have at least the copyright page (wich is a notebook file) between the cover and the ToC. I'm able to perform some basic html editing in the mobi files (if I choose to save the individual files), but I don't know what (and where!) it needs to be done. Thank you for help.
