Joolissa
Hello I suddenly realized I hadn't been on the Storyist Forums for a while again, so I'm catching up on everything, but I have a few questions. I wrote a rhyming children's picture book, which I also plan to illustrate, and I'm really happy with it. It's basically the first story I've ever finished since childhood, I have a lot of trouble with endings and finishing things, so I'm really excited. I want to take it to the next level and try to get it published, but I'm not very familiar with the children's market. I'm wondering if anybody can suggest an editor or where to find an editor etc. etc. or basically give me any advice or share children's picture book market resources. Do you need to find agents for picture books? I know I'm a long way out from that step (probably), but I'd like to have an idea about it anyway. For now I guess I am mostly looking for an editor and/or someone with experience in picture books who can advise me on the market etc. Thanks! - Jules
marguerite
Wow. Congrats, JG! Thar's fantastic. Woo-woot to you! Unfortnately, I know nothing about children's books, but I believe that Writers Digest has some books devoted to that market. Perhaps check them out?
