Command return doesn't always work

I find Command-Return is patchy when using it to create new sections, notes, characters, whatever. It sometimes works but on Sections it sometimes simply gives you the option to rename the section. On everything else it doesn't do anything. It is sporadic and I can't see any logic to it. Don't know if this is to do with this being a UK keyboard or something.

 

If I quit then restart the document it works fine, for a while anyway. Quite a lot of messages in Console even though I only started trying Storyist again this morning. Don't know if these help.

Hi Bodsham,

 

Thanks for the report. I am able to reproduce this on Lion as follows:

  • Delete an item from the Project view so that there are no items selected.
  • Click the Project menu in the menu bar. Clicking it is enough, you don't need to select anything.
  • Select an item in the Project view.
  • Try the Command+Return shortcut and notice it does not add a project item.

The key to reproducing this is to click the Project menu when there are no items selected in the Project view.

 

I've fixed this, and will send a version to the beta testers shortly.

 

You can work around the problem by clicking on the Project menu after selecting an item in the Project view. After doing so the Command+Return shortcut will work as expected.
