Sean314159
Here are the steps: 1) create a new file 2) select screenplay 3) if the inspector, click "edit outline template" Note: there is one line "body text", "scene", and "scene header". If I click the "+" nothing happens? if I click he "-" I can delete the line and recreate a line, but I can't add a second line? I'm trying to add more detains to the outline in the far left window? Thanks PS: Version 3.1.
Steve
Hi Sean314159, To add additional levels to the outline, first create the styles. For example, Create a style named Act and set the heading level to 1. Create a style named Sequence and set the heading level to 2. Then click the Edit Outline Template button. You'll be able to add outline levels and labels for the styles you just created. -Steve
Sean314159
Hi Steve, I kind of got it to work, but now when I click "Outline Edit Template" the window won't open? It still works on a new file, but it doesn't work on my file? Sean
Steve
Thats odd. Is there anything in the console log? To check: Open /Applications/Utilities/Console Enter "Storyist" in the search field. Let me know what you see. -Steve

Steve
Thanks Sean. It looks there is no outline template any longer. I suspect that removing the last outline template may have cause the issue. If you'd like, I can take a look at the file for you and fix it. If you'd like me to do that, you can send it to support@storyist.com. Sorry for the trouble. -Steve
Sean314159
Hi Steve, I found the bug. If you rename a style after it has been added to your outline the outline will not be displayed. You can change the style name back and the outline will appear again. In my case, I created a style called "Conversation" and I renamed it to "Conversation Heading" after it had been attached to the Outline which caused the Outline not to open. That said, I'm trying to get my Outline to be as follows: - Action - Scene - Conversation But it always shows an extra line, in my case "conversation direction" unless I exclude "text body elements" from the Outline? What am I doing wrong setting up the outline? Sean
Steve
Hi Sean, Thanks for the bug report. I'm not sure I understand what you're seeing with regard to the extra line. Do you have a style named "conversation direction?" It sounds like you're trying to set up an element that is more granular than a scene. -Steve
