nen1000
A simple request: if a character listed in the text has a character sheet, why not - if it is possible - force the spellchecker to accept the name as written (in the character sheet) as the correct spelling? Would clear up a manuscript, as well as making it easier to spot where character names have been misspelled. Could also be applied to names of settings... Steve
Hi Nick, Certainly possible. In fact, Storyist could create and maintain a project dictionary that augmented the OS X dictionary. Thanks for the request. -Steve
Steve E
Seconded. I have a lot of uncommon (and outrightly weird) names and find the red line an annoyance. So I have been adding these names to my Learn Spelling list. That solves the problem but not in the way I want. -T
marguerite
Thirded. I too add the names to my user dictionary, but it would be nice to have Storyist recognize them automatically once I add the character sheets. Especially if it also "understood" that if Koshkin is a character, then Koshkin's is also a legitimate word form. As you can imagine, between my Russians and my Tatars, very few of my characters actually have names that show up on the built-in dictionaries. In Word, I just leave the automated speller turned off. But my typing fingers do get ahead of themselves with alarming frequency, so a "smart" spell checker would be great. Best, M
