Some of you may have noticed that some of your favorite information sites (such as the English version of Wikipedia) are blacked out today but for certain special pages. This is because of two bills working their way through the US Congress which will, in effect, "put the burden on website owners to police user-contributed material and call for the unnecessary blocking of entire sites."* This site (the one you're reading now) accepts user-contributed material. It also makes it possible to download pictures from other sites and link to pages on other sites. As a frequent contributor to this forum this concerns me greatly. Of course there is more to this argument but, thankfully, the folks at Wikipedia have already written up a pretty good summary. That page, and related pages, are currently available on their site.
