dennis7490
Hello everyone, How can I back up my file to a flash drive, but keep working from my HD? For instance, on my PC there is a "send to" option, so it backs up what you've done wherever you send the file to, but you continue to work off the HD. There isn't a "send to" alternative on a Mac...that I know of. Thanks, Dennis
Steve
Hi Dennis, You can use the Save As command to save a copy directly to your flash drive. -Steve
dennis7490
Steve, Thanks. Tried that, but then it moves it to the flash drive instead of just backing it up. So I can no longer find it in my HD. So then i have to open it in my flash drive and do a "save as" to my HD. Unless I'm doing something wrong. Thanks, Dennis
Steve
Hi Dennis, Save As doesn't delete or move the original copy (so you should be able to find it in the original location). It does, however, make it so that additional changes are saved to the new location--in this case, your flash drive. You can also drag a copy of your project to your flash drive using Finder. -Steve
