Steve E
Science fiction author and futurist Arthur C. Clarke died today. Godspeed, sir. Amen. We have lost one of the greats today. See this Wikipedia Link to read more details. “The only way of discovering the limits of the possible is to venture a little way past them into the impossible.” - Arthur C. Clarke -Thoth. Note: The article at the other end of Steve's link says that Clarke died early Wednesday in Colombo, Sri Lanka, rather than late Tuesday 3/18/08 because of the time difference with Sri Lanka. So don't go writing the poor editor now.
Steve E
First Norman Mailer and now Arthur C. Clarke. The "Greatest Generation" is indeed passing from us.
Steve E
FYI: The Last Theorem, the last book written by Arthur C. Clarke, should hit the shelves August 7, 2008. It can be pre-ordered at a discount from Amazon (and other places, I'm sure). For Clarke fans like myself this is a must-have. For writers this is a chance to read the sci-fi master at the peak of his maturity.
