Steve E Posted April 1, 2010 Report Posted April 1, 2010 It's after midnight on the East Coast to it's time to begin the Frenzy, East Coasters. The rest of you can catch up. READY STEADY GO !!!
Joolissa Posted April 1, 2010 Report Posted April 1, 2010 Nothing like the new laptop I just had to buy to make me want to write.... if only I had a plot... waaah!!
Steve E Posted April 1, 2010 Author Report Posted April 1, 2010 Nothing like the new laptop I just had to buy to make me want to write.... if only I had a plot... waaah!! Don't cry Your Grace. There's a plot generator (sort of) on the Frenzy home page. (E.g., A robot snake / finds true love / in the war-torn Congo.) Now give that laptop the workout she deserves. Gotta go type something now. Thirty days and counting. - Thoth
astillac Posted April 1, 2010 Report Posted April 1, 2010 WHEEEEEE I have a beginning, and vague idea of the end, but that's it! /insane
marguerite Posted April 1, 2010 Report Posted April 1, 2010 WHEEEEEE I have a beginning, and vague idea of the end, but that's it! /insane Callista, are you participating, then? I searched for you to add to my buddy list and didn't find you. astillac, right? Long time no hear, girlfriend. What you been doin'? Off to check again, M P.S. Still didn't find you. What's your user name? (Or are you hiding? )
astillac Posted April 1, 2010 Report Posted April 1, 2010 Oh my gosh, did I not even sign up? Hold on. Ooh, I see, I didn't REsign up after they rolled the site. Here I am: http://www.scriptfrenzy.org/eng/user/82036

Here I am: http://www.scriptfrenzy.org/eng/user/82036 Hi Callista, or should I say "astillac". I went to update my total pages (I started shortly after midnight) and then buddied you. (There is no escape from The Frenzy!) That girl from NaNo still has my name so I'm still using my porn name "Edward Jessup". Nice hearing from you. Good luck with the Frenzy. - Thoth.

Here I am: http://www.scriptfrenzy.org/eng/user/82036 Gotcha! MargueriteB, that's me, but you probably figured that out. Thoth, 9 pages already? I am impressed! I have a (pretty) complete outline but can't really start writing until tomorrow. Best, M
Steve E Posted April 1, 2010 Author Report Posted April 1, 2010 Thoth, 9 pages already? I am impressed! Thank you. But I too had a pretty complete outline and lots of notes. Unfortunately, I am already seeing things I want to tweak so I expect much slower progress over the next few days. ***Insert joke about pantser working pantsless.*** I have a (pretty) complete outline but can't really start writing until tomorrow. I have every confidence that you will zip past us all as the month progresses. - Thoth
Steve E Posted April 2, 2010 Author Report Posted April 2, 2010 Just passed pg 18. You're a writing machine, TAS. BTW: Exactly who/what is that thing popping up on your posts? - Thoth
thealtruismsociety Posted April 2, 2010 Report Posted April 2, 2010 You're a writing machine, TAS. BTW: Exactly who/what is that thing popping up on your posts? - Thoth I believe it's Gannon.
Steve E Posted April 2, 2010 Author Report Posted April 2, 2010 I believe it's Gannon. Craig Gannon (born 1966), English guitarist? Frank Gannon, humorist? Jeff Gannon, pen name of James Guckert, a former White House reporter for the GOP-linked Talon News? John Mark Gannon (1877-1968), former archbishop of the Diocese of Erie? Kim Gannon (1900-1974), American songwriter? Rich Gannon (born 1965), National Football League quarterback? Sean Gannon (fighter), bare-knuckle fighter and mixed martial artist? Jim Gannon, English Football Manager? Jim Gannon (rugby league), Australian professional rugby league player? Kelli Gannon, a former field hockey midfield player from the United States? or Terry Gannon, a sportscaster for ESPN on ABC and ESPN? And what does he have to do with Script Frenzy? (Trying to keep on topic.) - Thoth

Steve E Posted April 2, 2010 Author Report Posted April 2, 2010 Sorry one too many "n's". Ah. Ganon, from The Legend of Zelda. Thanks for clearing that up. ... he observes the forums, making sure all is well. Aw. He's such a nice "embodiment of evil".
marguerite Posted April 2, 2010 Report Posted April 2, 2010 TAS, 40 pages in two days? Are you, like, the Scriptwriter Bunny? Congratulations! Awed, M
thealtruismsociety Posted April 2, 2010 Report Posted April 2, 2010 TAS, 40 pages in two days? Are you, like, the Scriptwriter Bunny? Congratulations! Awed, M I planned everything out but I'm busy this weekend so it will slow down I'm sure, hehe.
Steve E Posted April 3, 2010 Author Report Posted April 3, 2010 TAS, at this rate you'll be finished in less than a week. That's professional output. You could write for TV. A script a week! Wow. Like M, I am awed. - Thoth
thealtruismsociety Posted April 3, 2010 Report Posted April 3, 2010 I think I have a tad too much novel in my script though lol. Some of my action sequences may be a little ... beefy, hehe. Worry about that on re-write.
thealtruismsociety Posted April 5, 2010 Report Posted April 5, 2010 I could really use the script for Cast Away with Tom Hanks. There are a lot of occasions where me main character is alone and doing thing so the dialogue is limited, I'd love to see how that was done in a real movie. Oh Wall-E too. Any idea where I could find these?
Joolissa Posted April 5, 2010 Report Posted April 5, 2010 Here's a third draft script of Cast Away http://www.script-o-rama.com/movie_scripts...screenplay.html and here's Wall-E http://www.imsdb.com/scripts/Wall-E.html

Edit: Looks like JG beat me to it, and for free!
thealtruismsociety Posted April 5, 2010 Report Posted April 5, 2010 Thanks all. I'm worried in some sections I have way too MUCH action text. pg 66, 11,218 words, that about right?
Steve E Posted April 5, 2010 Author Report Posted April 5, 2010 Thanks all. I'm worried in some sections I have way too MUCH action text. pg 66, 11,218 words, that about right? Seems so. You could do the math. 100 pages, 20,000 words (at ~200wpp). So 66p would be 13,200 words. But words-per-page varies enormously so... TAS, 66 pages in almost 4 days is enormous. You may just have a career here. - Thoth
